On August 23, police in Landi Kotal arrested a man identified as Zahid for allegedly operating multiple fake social media accounts to defame and blackmail local citizens.

According to a First Information Report (FIR) registered at Landi Kotal Police Station following a complaint by Shah Fahad, Zahid allegedly created and shared inappropriate pictures and videos of individuals through social media and demanded money from victims, threatening to release the content if they refused to pay.

Police said Zahid was allegedly the main operator of a network of fake profiles and that his arrest could help identify other people involved.
