The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) in Lahore arrested a man for allegedly disseminating false and misleading information about state institutions through social media.

The suspect, identified as Muhammad Sarwar Arif, a Lahore resident, was arrested following an investigation into his online activities. During the operation, conducted on the directives of NCCIA Punjab Director Hassam bin Iqbal, three mobile phones were seized from his possession and sent for forensic analysis.

The NCCIA stated that the examination would focus on digital material and social media activity relevant to the investigation to determine the extent of the alleged misinformation and whether Arif had links to others involved in similar activities. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings.
