A nine-member Uzbek media delegation comprising representatives from print and electronic media visited Pakistan for eight days to engage with Pakistani media organisations and government officials, aiming to strengthen bilateral ties and media cooperation.

Uzbek journalists visited the Pakistan Monument and Faisal Mosque before meeting Foreign Office officials, who briefed them on regional developments and Pakistan-Uzbekistan relations.

Discussions focused on the countries’ historical, religious and cultural ties, as well as opportunities to expand economic and trade cooperation. Director General, Central Asia Hassan Ali Zaigham, highlighted the role of media exchanges in promoting awareness of bilateral opportunities and strengthening people-to-people contacts.

The delegation also visited Pakistan Television (PTV), where members toured various departments and learned about its broadcasting and production operations. They also visited private television channels, including SAMAA News and Hum News, to observe their newsrooms and broadcasting facilities.

The delegation is scheduled to visit Lahore as part of its tour, which aims to promote greater understanding and cooperation between Pakistan and Uzbekistan through media exchanges.
