On June 15, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi called for greater digital engagement by political forces to positively influence the youth and counter disinformation. He made the remarks while addressing a central meeting of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) digital team in Islamabad.
The meeting reviewed the party’s digital strategy, upcoming online campaigns, and efforts to strengthen public engagement through social media platforms.
Speaking at the meeting, Governor Kundi said digital media holds significant influence in shaping public discourse, especially in sensitive regions like Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. “Certain elements are spreading false information to mislead the youth. It is our responsibility to respond with truth and promote messages of national unity,” he said.
The meeting reaffirmed PPP’s commitment to expanding its digital footprint and addressing misinformation through disciplined and fact-based messaging.
PPP Central Secretariat for Information Nadeem Afzal Chan, Sindh’s Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, MNA Qasim Gillani, Senator Nadeem Bhutto, and digital media heads from across the party’s divisions were present. Digital activists from the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, UAE, Saudi Arabia, the United States, and other countries participated in the session via Zoom.
