Turkish consul-general’s photo exhibition opened

Karachi: An exhibition of Turkish Consul-General Fethi Etam’s photos ‘Here & There’ was opened at the Canvas Gallery, Clifton, on Sunday where a pictorial album of different countries – including Pakistan, Turkey, China, Bangladesh – was put on display.

While inaugurating the exhibition, Sindh Minister for Power Shazia Marri said that Pakistan in general and Sindh in particular have one of the world’s greatest heritage which can be promoted and brought before the world by holding photo exhibitions in the country as well as abroad.

Marri said the exhibition highlighted ancient and modern architecture and heritage of world’s different heritages and cultures. She said during his stay in Karachi, Etam had also helped the Sindh Tourism Department by exploring through photography the hidden aspects of its great culture and architecture which have been exhibited in the city as well as Turkey.

She said the world needed tolerance and by holding photo exhibitions and other social and cultural events, the people of different nations could be brought closer.

Talking to journalists, Etam said that his exploration of the land of Sindh was an unforgettable experience whereby he saw for himself the world’s great heritage and culture.

The photo exhibition was witnessed by a large number of people. Khalid Abdul Razzak the Consul-General of Malaysia and other diplomats were also present on the occasion.
