Veteran photojournalist Syed Ikram Mehdi died of a heart attack on August 4 at the age of 79, ending a distinguished career in photojournalism that spanned six decades. Throughout his career, he contributed to several leading Urdu and English newspapers and had been associated with Business Recorder since July 1, 2003.

Funeral prayers were held at Khair-ul-Amal Imambargah in Ancholi, followed by his burial at Wadi-e-Hussain graveyard.

Business Recorder and members of the journalism community paid tribute to Mehdi’s professionalism and legacy, extending condolences and prayers for his family. Mehdi is survived by a wife and six children.
