Brothers of investigative journalist Ahmad Noorani — Muhammad Ali and Saif-ur-Rehman Haider — who had been missing from Islamabad since March 19, were recovered during a police operation in the Kacha Machka area of Rahim Yar Khan district.
The recovery took place during a late-night patrol when a police team encountered armed suspects. As the suspects opened fire, police responded swiftly, engaging in a brief exchange of gunfire. The operation was supported by Elite Force commandos and armored vehicles.
Following the confrontation, a search of the area led to the discovery of the two abducted individuals. Police stated that the brothers were being moved to another location by their captors. The suspects fled under the cover of darkness and challenging terrain, abandoning the hostages.
According to authorities, police were coordinating with the authorities in the victims’ district for the facilitation of their return. District Police Officer Rizwan Umar Gondal praised the police team for their professionalism and successful execution of the operation.
